In 2001, the founder and CEO of this organization began a quest that has driven her to establish a concern for appropriate care for children removed from their familiar home environment. Having been a foster parent, she determined that there was an obvious need for young children to receive nurturing and specialized care to heal and effectively reduce their risk of further harm.
In 2003, W&W Community Development became incorporated and developed its first program, Children’s Plus Foster Family Agency (CPFFA) which is a 501c(3) non-profit licensed foster family agency, specializing in long-term and short-term placement of infants and children to 17 years of age. These placements are with exceptional families throughout the San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.
In August 2004, Children’s Plus Foster Family Agency received its first placement. As of August 2010, this agency has placed well over 600 children into quality, loving, nurturing and certified homes.
Founded in 2001, as a non-profit comprehensive social service agency, our focus is on providing quality and effective child welfare services that promote and preserve family relations. We accomplish this by working with our children, family-to-family component and the Department of Social Services to transform their lives, build emotional, social and family well-being through the provision of our comprehensive foster family services.
Children's Plus Foster Family Agency is dedicated to the protection and safety of children and the recruitment of families in the community in order to provide a nurturing environment that supports the natural development of each child in our program.

Every day, our management team and social workers strive to ensure that every child in Children's Plus's care has a loving family and the opportunity to become a productive member of their community.
County placement agencies use licensed private Foster Family Agencies (FFAs) for the placement of children who require more intensive care as an alternative to group homes. By statute, FFAs are organized and operated on a non-profit basis and are engaged in the following activities: recruiting, certifying, and training foster parents, providing professional support to foster parents, and finding homes or other temporary or permanent placements for children who require more intensive care.
Human resources (HR) is the division of a business that is charged with finding, recruiting, screening, and training job applicants.
RFA is a new family-friendly and child-centered caregiver approval process that combines elements of the current foster parent licensing, relative approval processes, and approvals for adoption and guardianship and replaces those processes.

Thousands of children in California's foster care system require temporary out-of-home care because of parental neglect, abuse, or exploitation. The largest percentages are African American and Latino children. Some stay in foster care for weeks; some for years. The children are of all ages and varying needs.
Foster parents provide a supportive and stable family for children who cannot live with their birth parents until family problems are resolved. In most cases, foster parents work with social services staff to reunite the child with birth parents. Foster parents often provide care to many different children.
A license is required to operate a foster home. The process requires a licensing worker to visit your home and meet with you and other family members. Minimum personal, safety, and space requirements are required by law. Foster parents work with social services staff to determine the type of child best suited for their home (i.e., age, health issues, and gender).
Foster parents receive a monthly payment to feed, clothe, and meet the material needs of the children placed in their care.
Medical and dental coverage is provided through the Medi-Cal program.
It was a Godsend! The Children's Plus program is a great resource for our whole family! The extra training continues to enhance our ability to understand our child's unique challenges and develop ways to help him while supporting the whole family.
We got a lot of support from the visit supervisors, social workers, and the foster parents. It made me feel like I mattered and that I wasn't going to be just another statistic.
I have found for myself, when I am in need, that I can depend on my Social Worker at Children's Plus, to help with the issues and working through until the issues are complete and solved and if my assigned Social Worker is not available at the time, there are many more qualified workers to step in and save the day. This agency has my top vote!
Fostering has always meant so much to me. Being able to provide a child with love and a home brings me such great joy. It means a lot having an agency that is supportive and that cares.
When we started thinking about becoming foster parents we were nervous about the children, their backgrounds and all of the legal requirements. Fortunately, the wonderful staff at Children's Plus helped us to understand the process right away.
